Course Description

  • The Diploma Thesis is research-based and contains original findings. It is a single course divided into two semesters and is graded with a single grade either in the winter or spring semester.
  • Work on the thesis begins in the third semester, and the duration of the thesis project cannot be less than one (1) calendar semester. It includes an interim presentation of the preliminary work—literature review, the writing of the thesis, and its public presentation and defense before a three-member examination committee.
  • The topics concern cutting-edge research areas and are often linked to research programs or collaborations with industry. The aim of the M.Sc. program is to highlight students’ research work through publication in a conference or peer-reviewed scientific journal.
  • The M.Sc. thesis may be written in Greek or English. Procedural matters concerning the initiation, supervision, preparation, and final examination of the Master’s Thesis are defined in the Program’s Academic Regulations and Thesis Preparation Regulations.
